Artist Statement
Within the last few months, I've questioned what I wanted to do in my life due to a personal loss in my family. Her passing has made me wonder what is the meaning of human existence, what should one value, what happens after death, etc. I believe these are important questions one should ask of themselves, regardless of whether or not they've experienced a loss. How we lead our lives and the decisions we make effect society and the world as a whole.
At this time, the world seems to have so much apathy and despair. I believe this is because people have given up on themselves. They see themselves as a number, a tiny ant in a big world full of danger. And like an ant, people go through the motions, living each day as a routine, doing what everyone else is doing.
This can change. Society and the world has the potential to grow again. I believe by reawakening ourselves, finding what we're passionate about, and by thinking again, people will not feel insignificant anymore. With this newfound feeling of purpose, people will make positive changes on society and the world.
I plan to inspire this reawakening through art, specifically film. Visual media is the most popular and powerful form of communication today. Through aesthetics and story, I hope to push people to think of issues regarding the human condition. I hope to use the arts for the betterment of the self, society, and the world.

Comments on People's Blogs
Penny's/Amy's Community Gardening Blog:
I went there with my boyfriend the other night and we had their veggie burgers. YUM! I really like your blog. I think the content is great. I can tell that you are very passionate about community gardening and I like the layout as well. About tea, are you familiar with Zen Cha Tea Salon?
Comment on John Wilson's Taxipathy Blog:
I really like the one in the middle. Well, I like all your drawings really. I like how they are very simple. The layout of your blog, the plain white and the red text doesn't take away from your drawings, which I think is very important. It's very strange, for some off reason, your drawings at time remind me of Asian art. I feel that some of your lines are much like that from calligraphy and also the simplicity of your pictures is much like Asian art. Perhaps you are already familiar with it, but if not, I'd just out some Japanese and Chinese Art from the 1800's.

I'm really glad I happened to click on your blog today. I decided that I wanted to do film production about a couple months ago and now I feel like what the hell am I doing here at OSU? I want to get the hell out of here really badly, but I don't have the funds. I will definitely check up on your blog and let you know if I hear of anything exciting film related going on. Good to know there's yet another frustrated Ohioan.
Tom Danko: JC and Me
HAHAHAHAHAHA. Vampires are awesome but wow, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter...amazing.
Christina Morrell GodDNA:
that is pretty much adorable. I like how Kiwi pulls all that hammering stuff out of no where (well, it looked like it came from his butt)
Monica Anderson A Sweets Life:
Sweets is absolutely adorable. I wish I had a cat...but unfortunately I am allergic. *sigh*

Nevermind
I'd like to make a correction about the purpose of this blog. I originally said that I will be posting all my blog posts here. I've changed my mind. I thought that I had to do this for the class. However, I found out that I do not. So...yea. this is just a blog for my assignments then. :)

What my Blogs are about?
This blog is specifically for my Art of Podcasting class. I will be posting all my assignments on this blog as well as all my posts from both my Blogs: So You Wanna Dance and In Loving Memory: The Gathering Place. This way, you can keep track of how many posts I have made all on one blog.
So You Wanna Dance is a blog for me to post about my Hip Hop dance team here at OSU. Furthermore, I intend to post instructional videos on foundations of dance in many categories such as ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. I will also be posting links and dance videos of interest.
In Loving Memory: The Gathering Place, my other blog, originally started off as a discussion board for people who have lost loved ones or know someone experiencing a loss. I don't think many, if any, people have viewed it, let alone comment, so now it has become a personal blog for me. At first, I was disappointed that no one viewed my blog and was even worried that if people viewed it, they would judge me or my experiences. Now, I realized that I do not care as much what people think. By writing in this blog, I have forced myself to address issues, emotions, and memories which I typically push aside. Although some of those posts are difficult to write, I feel relieved and much happier after I write my thoughts down.
I realize that So You Wanna Dance and In Loving Memory: The Gathering Place are two very different blogs. I created So You Wanna Dance because dancing is a hobby which I am deeply invested in and passionate about. I feel this blog is more lighthearted and "fun" for me to update. It allows me to share my passion with other people and also allows me to keep myself updated on my dancing. In Loving Memory: The Gathering Place is more serious. Although it is not a chore to post in that blog, it certainly requires a lot of emotional strain.
